[Steven seems to be enjoying himself. He has the camera angled down towards his Cleffa, who's rubbing up against his leg, ears twitching.] W-Whoa, now, stay still, okay? I wanna take a picture to send back to the Gems. You're pretty photogenic! You should be a model. I could be your agent!

Okay now, c'mere -- oof! [Steven reaches down to try and scoop the Cleffa up in one hand, jiggling the camera as the Pokemon wriggles in his hold. He flips the view around so that Steven's face is in shot, and he's grinning wide over the big brown ears of his Pokemon.] Whooaa. Heh heh. I'm on camera!

Ok, Steven, you gotta play it cool. You're practically in a movie.

AHEM.

[Steven grins.] Hi! I'm Steven Universe! I don't know where I am! [Nailed it.] I mean, I AM a Crystal Gem, so I can DEFINITELY take care of myself, buuuut.

[Steven frowns a little, glances around him.] Theeeere's not a single thing here that seems familiar! It's like I'm on a whole different planet! And the Gems are going to get pretty worried if I don't come back soon.

...but at least I've got this little guy here to keep me company! Isn't that right? [Steven turns to the Cleffa, gives her a little poke.] Do YOU know where we are?

[She makes a few noncommittal noises, nuzzles up again his chin. Steven beams.] She loves me.

[The camera jiggles again as Steven flops down on the grass, plops the Cleffa in his lap.] Hehe. You can be my second best friend. That way Lion won't get jealous.

But maybe we should get back to the temple first. Right? [Steven nods, off camera, mostly to himself.] Right.

Anyway, I guess I should stop recording now. I hope the Gems can see this so that they can come here and have fun with me, too! Okay, bye.

Hi there, Steven! You're in a place called Johto right now. New Bark's the town you're in, if you wanna be more specific! I can answer any questions you got!

[He can be seen seated on the edge of a cot with his Bulbasaur resting on his knees, watching Steven and his Cleffa on the Gear curiously.]

...What's a Crystal Gem, though?

A nice pink haired lady told me I was in Johto! I guess that's pretty far away from my home. I don't really know how I got here, but I don't think this place is so bad!

What's your name? Have you been here long?

[Steven grins.] We're a group of super awesome powerful warriors that protect the earth and stuff!

[Oooooh my god you are a child directly after his own heart.]

Yeah, nobody really knows how people get here, but it's a super great place to be, I can promise you that!

My name's Jimmy Two-Shoes, and I've been here for a year now since February!

[That causes him to gasp a little. Wow, a warrior? He doesn't look like he could be much older than Molly...but that only surprises him for the briefest of moments before his smile returns full force.]

That's real cool! So you're like a super hero, then?

Soooo, it's a mystery? [Sounds like something he should be investigating! He IS a Crystal Gem, after all. He needs to protect these humans.

For now though, he grins.] Jimmy! Nice to meet you. You've been here for a while then, huh? That's pretty cool too!

[Jimmy, you are going to inflate his ego. Steven chuckles, shrugs his shoulders a little.] Oh, well, I mean...it's not like we have secret identities or anything. We're just doing what we can to keep Earth safe. It's what the Crystal Gems stand for!

...at least, that's what Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl tell me. They were here before I was.

Yeah, something like that! Lotsa people have been here a lot longer than I have, and they still don't know...but I'm not too worried about knowing why.

[If he looks impressed, it's because he is.]

Wow...I guess that explains why I've never heard of you guys before. See, I'm not really from Earth, but I'm sure I'd have known you guys if I was!

Gosh, this place really must not be so bad then. [Steven doesn't really want to LIVE here, though...not for that long. He has responsibilities at home to take care of, after all!

Steven seems equally impressed to hear that Jimmy isn't from earth, either.] Ooooh, but that's so cool! Some of my friends aren't from earth, either!

It isn't, really! I think you'll like it here, Steven.

[SORRY STEVEN YOU...MIGHT ACTUALLY BE HERE A BIT...]

Oh- ..you really think so?

[...because that's not a reaction he's gotten before. So many people here are form different places, but most are from Earth. It's not all that often he meets someone who finds that to be a good thing.]

I hope so! It wouldn't be very fun to be stuck somewhere I didn't like! [I mean, he DID get stuck on an island with two of his friends for an in determinant amount of time once...THIS ISN'T SO BAD.

Steven nods.] Pearl is always talking about how much she loves space, and all the planets she used to visit and stuff. So I think it must be a pretty cool place.

[Jimmy nods in agreement, rubbing the back of his neck.]

S'far as I know, my home's definitely another planet...sortof.

[Given what he knows about his home from being here...he has reason to believe it's a bit more than that, but he's been trying his best not to worry about that.]

But I'm glad you think so! Miseryville is a great place.

[Because that's not an oxymoron.]

[Steven listens, nods when appropriate.] I guess most other Gems are from a place called Homeworld. That's what the other Crystal Gems told me, anyway. But some of us were born on earth! Or...made? [Amethyst seemed to imply something like that...]

I've never heard of it! But I bet it is!

[Congrats Steven, you're the first person in a long time to not question Miseryville, and Jimmy's honestly very appreciative of that.]

Mhm! Man the Crystal Gems sound really cool though...I hope I get to meet them someday!

Oh, we are. I'm sure you'll get to meet the rest of them sometime! Especially if your planet decides to attack earth or something.

[Jimmy laughs a little at that, though it's out of amusement as opposed to being unkind.]

Haha, I don't think we'll hafta worry about that any time soon! Lucy's got enough to worry about back home without tryin' to run whole other planets.

Is Lucy a friend of yours? [An apparently world-controlling friend, but none the less.]

Oh, totally! He's my best friend's dad, and the ruler of Miseryville!

I wish I was friends with my best friend's dad. He's nice and all, buuuuut not really "friend" material.

Aw, really? I think everybody can be friend material! You just gotta...get 'em to warm up to you, that's all.
